monday musings

I slowly allowed my body to wake up as I sat on the warm bus, gradually adjusting to the unfortunate reality that I was in fact “up and at em” before the sun had decided to show it’s face.

Upon my arrival at the office I managed to misjudge the size of my coffee mug, underestimating it’s lack of capacity as coffee overflowed everywhere. I watched helplessly before deciding to attempt to move the cup to the sink. I almost instantly regretted this choice of action as the scalding hot coffee burnt my thumb and spilled all over the floor and counter. Smooth criminal.

Thankfully, no one was around to witness my pathetic struggle, and the irony of this situation hit me hard later as I felt my functionality increase at the first taste of my coffee. On the positive side, I have learned that 8 ounces is the maximum amount for the small white ceramic mugs, and I am doing a lot better now that the coffee is in my system, rather than all over the floor.

In other news, I have successfully sat in a meeting to go over my upcoming tasks, and amusingly observed the guy across from me lick his finger in order to ensure that every last crumb of his Nature Valley granola bar was consumed.

I silently applaud his refusal to let any of it go to waste. The rest of the world could learn a thing or two from this meticulous muncher.

Currently, my computer will not connect to the internet (I guess it’s not having the best Monday either, however unlike me and my coffee incident, it has decided to just quit working altogether).

So, I am sitting here writing about my morning musings and trying to appear busy while the IT guy works on relieving the issue.

I hope you all had a wonderful start to your week!
